Sandboxing a WordPress WWWorld!

Let’s experiment with WordPress as a website! It’s a rather nasty infection, if the stories are true. Word is, WordPress is very hard to replace after once you go down that road. Once you put all that effort into creating content, how do you then migrate it it to another platform?

However, we feel we are safe here. First we created a VM to run just the website. Then we set up the base server from the existing Debian 9 installed server. After that the OS was upgraded from Debian 9 to Debian 10, the new Debian Stable.

The next task was installing an auto updating Let’s Encrypt certificate. Along the way we made snapshots of the VM before moving on to the next task. Finally we installed WordPress.

Now it’s just a matter of configuring, changing settings, and creating content.
